Oyo State Trains 80 Civil Servants in Digital Skills

Eighty civil servants in Oyo State participated in a three-week intensive training program focused on basic computer operations and applications, aimed at enhancing digital skills and improving efficiency within the public service. The training was organized by the Simeon Adebo Staff Development Centre in Ibadan, as announced by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, on Tuesday.

Oyo State's Head of Service, Adenike Fasina, praised the center's commitment to capacity building and human resource development, assuring continued support from the state government. The Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives and Industry, Prof. Saliu Adelabu, emphasized the government's shift from conventional administration to a digital system, with plans for Business Process Automation.

He noted that while many civil servants are already computer literate, the training provided practical digital skills essential for public-sector governance. Permanent Secretary Alhaji Alade Bello encouraged participants to practice and apply their newly acquired skills effectively in their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
