ADC's Adegoke Promises Rail Line to Boost Oyo Agriculture

Olooye Adegboyega Adegoke, the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, announced plans to build a rail line from Moniya to Saki to enhance the transportation of farm produce from Oke-Ogun to Ibadan and other regions in the South-West. Speaking on the “Good Morning Show” on Arise News Television, Adegoke detailed that the proposed Standard Single Gauge Rail Line, spanning approximately 100 kilometers, would cost around US$3 million per kilometer.

The project will be executed in three phases: Moniya to Iseyin, Iseyin to Okeho, and Okeho to Saki. Adegoke emphasized the necessity of the rail line for economic development, particularly for Oke-Ogun, which he described as the food basket of Oyo State.

He committed to supporting farmers and outlined his economic blueprint, encapsulated in his slogan “SOLUTIONS 2027,” which includes various developmental goals. Adegoke also asserted his candidacy as the most viable option among the leading candidates.
