Oyo ADC Candidate Adegoke Plans Solar Farm for Ibarapa

Olooye Adegboyega Adegoke, the Oyo State governorship candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has committed to addressing the ongoing electricity crisis in Ibarapa by proposing the establishment of a solar farm dedicated to the region. Speaking during a thank-you visit in Igbo-Ora on 17 September 2026, Adegoke stated that the solar farm would reduce the area's reliance on the national grid and provide more reliable electricity for homes and businesses.

He emphasized that improved power supply would stimulate economic activities and enhance security in Ibarapa. Additionally, Adegoke promised to involve traditional rulers in grassroots security efforts and support farmers with modern equipment, high-yield seeds, and cooperative loans.

With a background in Agricultural Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, he aims to prioritize measures that improve farm productivity and farmers' incomes. ADC Youth Leader in Ibarapa Central, Ayodele Olanlere, supported Adegoke's focus on electricity, jobs, healthcare, and education.
