Oyo State Launches Digital Land Registry for Transparency

On Thursday, Oyo State officially launched a digital land registry to enhance transparency and efficiency in land administration. The initiative was officiated by Governor Seyi Makinde at the office of the Surveyor General in Ibadan.

The digital platform is designed to modernize land management and verify spatial analysis of survey plans. William Akin-Funmilayo, representing the State Surveyor General Adesoji Adeoy, emphasized the state's commitment to digital transformation in land administration.

The digital registry aims to provide faster, secure, and reliable services to licensed surveyors, land professionals, investors, government agencies, and the general public. This initiative is seen as a major milestone in strengthening integrated land records and improving service delivery, thereby reducing processing time and enhancing public confidence in Oyo's land administration system.

As part of the implementation process, training for 40 personnel commenced on the same day to equip them with the necessary skills for effective operation and management of the digital land survey registry.
