Wild Elephant Kills Man in Oyo State Community

On April 23, 2026, at approximately 15:30 hours, a wild elephant killed a 45-year-old man named Ibrahim Tijani in Innayin community, Oyo State. Following the incident, the Oyo State Police Command, represented by DSP Olayinka Ayanlad, reported that a 50-year-old man, Alhaji Muhammadu Bingin, is missing after encountering the elephant.

Upon receiving a distress call, police operations collaborated with local vigilant hunters and swiftly mobilized to the scene, where they discovered Tijani's lifeless body in a nearby bush, showing injuries consistent with an animal attack. Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing individual.

The police have advised residents to avoid the affected area and report any sightings of the animal to security agencies.
