Suspected Herders Kill Farmer in Oyo State Attack

Last weekend, a 47-year-old farmer named Chief Mutairu Oladosu was reportedly killed by suspected herders while working on his tomato farm in the Okelad area of Ido Local Government Area, Oyo State. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the herders invaded the farm in large numbers and launched an attack on Oladosu, who was accompanied by his daughter.

The attack was confirmed by Oba Wahab, who stated that three suspected herders have been arrested by police authorities for further investigation. The incident has caused significant fear among the local population, with residents expressing concerns about safety, as they no longer feel secure enough to sleep soundly at night.

Oba Wahab emphasized the need for intervention to prevent the situation from escalating into a major crisis. He also mentioned that the Fulani herders have become a source of threat to the community, prompting a visit from local leadership to address the issue.
