Fire Destroys Plastic Store in Osogbo, Osun State

On Sunday, a significant fire incident occurred at a plastic store located in the old garage area of Osogbo, Osun State, around 2 PM. The fire caused palpable fear among the local community as it threatened to spread to nearby premises.

Ibrahim Adekunle, a spokesperson for the Osun Fire Service, reported that five fire trucks were deployed to the scene to battle the flames and prevent further escalation. The fire was first noticed around 2 PM, prompting immediate contact with the Osogbo fire station.

Firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze, which raised concerns among local traders and residents. The cause of the fire remains undetermined, and an investigation will be conducted.

This incident follows another fire reported in January 2025 at Akinola Market in Ipemodu, Osun State, which destroyed goods worth millions of naira.
