Herdsmen Attack in Kogi: Three Killed, Community Panics

On Sunday evening, suspected herdsmen attacked Bagaji Odoh Community in Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of three individuals: Mr. Lydia Umoru, Mr.

Andrew Onuch, and Mr. Esther.

Eyewitness accounts reported that the gunmen entered the village around 8 PM, opening fire indiscriminately, which led to panic among residents, including women and children, who sought refuge in nearby bushes. The attack was believed to be motivated by past grievances related to cattle theft.

Following the incident, soldiers were deployed to the area by 10 PM to secure the community, and by Monday morning, they were already conducting surveillance. The police were also contacted to take action against the bandits responsible for the attack.
