Herdsmen Attack Near Abuja: Six Residents Killed

On Wednesday morning, a community near Abuja, specifically in Mararaba, experienced a heavy attack by suspected herdsmen, resulting in the deaths of no fewer than six residents, although local sources suggest the actual casualty count may be higher. The assault began in the early hours, with gunmen invading the settlement, killing several people, and setting homes ablaze.

The violence is reportedly connected to previous confrontations between farmers and herders, which allegedly resulted in the death of a herder. Following this, the attack appears to be a reprisal, leading to further chaos as residents attempted to defend their homes.

Visual evidence from the scene shows numerous buildings completely burnt, and lifeless bodies were seen being transported in a wheelbarrow. The situation has caused widespread fear, prompting families to flee to safer areas.
