Gombe PDP Clears Pantami and Others for Governorship Primary

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has confirmed that Professor Isa Ali Pantami, Usman Aliyu Garry, and Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki are the three aspirants cleared to participate in a fresh governorship primary scheduled for September 29. This decision follows a September 24 judgment from the Federal High Court in Gombe, which nullified the previous process that led to Pantami's nomination as the PDP's governorship candidate for the 2027 election.

Abdulkadir Ahmed Dukku, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, stated that the party would conduct the primary in compliance with the court's directive and dismissed claims that Pantami was barred from participating. The PDP is prepared to hold the primary in accordance with the court's ruling, which mandates the party to conduct the election within 30 days.

Eligible delegates are directed to assemble at their respective ward areas for the exercise.
