Eniola Bolaji Wins Silver at 2026 Para Badminton Int’l

Eniola Bolaji claimed a silver medal in the women's SL3 singles final at the 2026 British & Irish Para Badminton International held in Dublin, Ireland. She lost to Japan's Shino Kawai with scores of 21-18 and 23-21.

Bolaji, a bronze medallist at the World Championship and a silver medallist, had an impressive run to the final, recording straight-game victories against competitors including India's Neeraj and France's Milena Surreau in the group stage and quarter-finals. Despite her defeat in the final, Franci Orbih, President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, praised Bolaji's outstanding performance and expressed confidence in her future potential to overcome Kawai.

The federation is already working on plans to secure overseas training programs to help Bolaji close the gap with the world number one. Orbih commended the support received from the National Sports Commission and the Badminton Confederation of Africa, highlighting sponsorship from Yonex and Gig Logistics to enhance Bolaji's international exposure.
