Parents Demand Justice for Alleged Assault on Daughter

Parents of a 5-year-old girl are demanding justice following an alleged assault on their daughter. The incident was reported by the victim's mother, Suwaiba Iliyasu, who stated that her daughter returned from school with her elder brother and later went outside to roast groundnuts.

The girl was reportedly beaten by a neighbor who removed her trousers. Upon hearing the commotion, the brother intervened, and the neighbor gave the girl N200 to buy groundnuts.

When questioned further, the girl revealed that the neighbor had removed her trousers and assaulted her. The family reported the case to the Anguwan Rogu Police Station, where the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) confirmed that the girl was taken to the hospital, and a doctor confirmed she had been assaulted.

The DPO later referred the case to the police commission. The victim's father, Hayatu Muhammad, has called on relevant authorities to ensure justice for his daughter.

Attempts to contact the spokesperson for the state police command, SP Alabo Alfr, were unsuccessful.
