NIS Confirms Passport Services Remain Operational

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has assured Nigerians that passport services across the country remain operational and have not been suspended. This assurance follows the recent migration of additional passport branches to the Central Personalization Centre, which the NIS described as a strategic administrative enhancement intended to improve passport production and security.

In a statement posted on X, the NIS clarified that passport applicants can continue to visit their designated passport offices for biometric enrolment without interruption. The centralized production framework is designed to align with global security standards, streamline processing timelines, and safeguard the integrity of the Nigerian passport.

The NIS emphasized that capturing centers are fully operational, and the production and distribution of passport booklets are continuing within standard timeframes. Citizens were reassured that physical booklets are processed efficiently and returned to local commands within standard delivery windows.
