NIS Warns Against Unauthorized Passport and Visa Services

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) issued a warning to both Nigerians and foreigners to utilize only its official online platforms for passport and visa applications. The NIS stated that it has not authorized any religious organizations, private entities, or individuals to collect payments on its behalf.

The only official platform for passport payments is https://passport.immigration.gov.ng, applicable to Nigerians both domestically and in the diaspora. For foreigners applying for Nigerian visas, the official links are https://visa.immigration.gov.ng for embassy applications and https://evisa.immigration.gov.ng for electronic visa applications.

The NIS reiterated that it has not partnered with any unauthorized intermediaries. It encouraged applicants needing clarification or assistance to reach out through its verified communication channels, including its official X accounts (@nigimmigration and @InquireAtNaija), Facebook, Instagram handles (@nigimmigration), and WhatsApp numbers (09160878000 and 09117717772).

The statement emphasized the NIS's commitment to secure and transparent application processes, urging the public to avoid fraudulent intermediaries.
