Pastor Builds Mosque for Peaceful Coexistence in Lagos

Pastor Elijah Babatunde Ayodel, the founder and spiritual head of INRI Evangel Spiritual Church, constructed a mosque adjacent to his church in Isolo, Lagos State, unveiled on February 14, 2026. This initiative aims to promote unity, discipline, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims.

The unveiling was part of activities marking the annual thanksgiving celebration of the cleric's birthday. The project included various community empowerment programs, such as the launch of a new urban radio station and the distribution of support tools like mini buses, tricycles, and educational grants.

Ayodel emphasized that the mosque symbolizes Jesus Christ's teachings of love rather than religious division, urging Nigerians to rise above religious conflicts. The ceremony attracted dignitaries from various sectors, including traditional rulers and political figures, and coincided with the commencement of Ramadan, drawing a large crowd and earning commendations for its interfaith harmony and humanitarian commitment.
