N10bn Healthcare Initiative Launched in Bauchi State

On a recent weekend, Prof. Ali Pate, the coordinating minister of health and social welfare, flagged off a N10 billion maternal and newborn healthcare intervention in Bauchi State.

This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu's commitment to improving healthcare delivery nationwide. The program aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality by providing medical equipment, ambulances, maternal kits, and essential drugs to healthcare facilities across the state.

The federal government is investing N10 billion into this program, which will benefit several health sector interventions under the current administration. Key components of the intervention include the establishment and upgrading of federal health institutions, revitalization of primary healthcare centers, and training of frontline health workers.

Additionally, 20 primary healthcare centers across 15 local government areas will receive labor delivery equipment, including suction machines, oxygen concentrators, and blood pressure monitors, along with 17,000 maternal kits for pregnant women.
