Mountain Top University Launches Fine Arts Department

Mountain Top University in Ogun State has launched its Fine Arts department, which is the first of its kind in a private university in the state, established in 2019. Dr.

Kehind Hassan Shobukola has been the head of the department since August 1, 2022. Upon his arrival, he noted the need for improvements in teaching and learning, which he has since spearheaded by revising the curriculum.

The department operates under the vision of Dr. Folashad Olukoya, the Chancellor's wife, who has a long-standing interest in art and has provided full scholarships for the first 25 students for four years.

Shobukola has introduced two new student entry pathways and emphasized practical industry-oriented approaches, encouraging students to engage in real-world projects. The curriculum now includes five new courses, reflecting the dynamic nature of contemporary art education.

Students are already thriving in the digital economy, with some generating income through digital content creation.
