PDP Slams Ebonyi Governor for Threatening Opposition

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned Ebonyi State Governor Franci Nwifuru for his recent remarks at a political rally, where he allegedly threatened to "consume" opposition members. PDP spokesperson Haruna Jungudo stated that such inflammatory language is unbecoming of a public office holder and could escalate political tensions in the state.

Jungudo reminded that Nwifuru's comments reflect his increasing desperation as the 2027 elections approach, highlighting the governor's failure to deliver meaningful dividends of democracy to the people of Ebonyi State. He accused Nwifuru of misappropriating state funds, citing a reported N24 billion spent on renovating Ebonyi Airport, which remains commercially unviable.

The PDP urged the people of Ebonyi to prepare for the upcoming elections and to hold the current administration accountable for its performance. The party also emphasized that the challenges faced by Nwifuru are self-inflicted and not the fault of Chief Wike, who is not his political ally.
