Melaye Accuses Ex-PDP Officials of Aiding Tinubu

Senator Dino Melaye has accused three former officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of facilitating the party's decline and allegedly handing it over to President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Melaye named former acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and former National Organising Secretary Umar Bature as key figures in this alleged plot.

He made these claims during an appearance on the Kaa Truths podcast, where he addressed the ongoing crises within the PDP and the implications for the 2027 general elections. Melaye suggested that the internal issues plaguing the PDP were exacerbated by actions of these individuals, particularly following Nyesom Wike's alleged role in the party's demise.

Melaye had previously criticized the trio in August 2024, claiming they had irreparably damaged the PDP. The PDP has dismissed Melaye's allegations as internal political disagreements, while Damagum countered by questioning Melaye's commitment to the party.
