Mother of Kidnapped Oyo Pupils Shares Emotional Ordeal

Olufunmilayo Adelabu, the mother of former Minister of Power Bayo Adelabu, shared her emotional experience regarding the kidnapping of schoolchildren in Oriir Local Government Area, Oyo State. She recounted crying for the abducted pupils before her own daughter, Olaid Adegok, and her twin grandson were kidnapped on Tuesday, June 3, 2026, in Ibadan.

Following a police operation, they were rescued unharmed on Saturday night. Adelabu expressed her gratitude to God for their safe return and reflected on the broader issue of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly concerning the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers.

She emphasized the need for prayers and government intervention to prevent such incidents, stating that her family’s ordeal was part of a troubling trend of kidnappings in the country, which has sparked widespread outrage and concern.
