Maigari Claims Peter Obi Hindered Igbo Presidential Aspirations

In an interview on Monday, Kasimu Maigari, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed that Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has pushed the Igbos back by 20 years in their quest for the presidency. Maigari asserted that Obi's political movement has not advanced the aspirations of the South East to produce the next Nigerian president but has instead created significant setbacks.

He expressed skepticism about Obi's chances of winning the presidency, suggesting that a large percentage of Obi's support is primarily interested in securing electoral positions such as state assembly seats and governorship tickets. Maigari also mentioned that former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso is driven by genuine ideological commitments in the political arena, contrasting with Obi's approach.
