Peter Obi's Proposal for Aisha Yesufu Rejected by NDC

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, reportedly attempted to give Aisha Yesufu access to the NDC campaign account, but this proposal was denied. High Chief Lawrence Igbins Okoro claimed on X that Obi approached a senior figure in the NDC, referred to as the "Supreme Leader," to make Yesufu a signatory to the campaign account.

Okoro alleged that Obi was warned against bringing up the matter again. Yesufu had indicated that she would not participate actively in the campaign unless she was granted signatory rights to the account.

This claim arises amid discussions regarding Yesufu's role in Obi's 2027 presidential campaign, where she plans to focus on grassroots mobilization rather than extensive travel. Yesufu has also emphasized the importance of electoral transparency and safeguarding the voting process.

Previously, she moved from the African Democratic Congress to the NDC and sought the party's ticket for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat but was unsuccessful.
