Peter Obi Calls for Voter Accountability in 2027 Elections

On Tuesday, during the National Peace Accord signing ceremony in Abuja, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, called on Nigerians to "punish" politicians who breach electoral peace agreements in the upcoming 2027 general elections. He stated that such politicians should face consequences at the polls, urging voters not to support them.

Obi advocated for peaceful, issue-based campaigns that address pressing concerns such as the economy, insecurity, unemployment, and the rising cost of living. He expressed that no Nigerian should lose their life due to elections and called for support for families affected by violence during the recent Osun State governorship election.

Obi reaffirmed his belief in the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that Nigerians can freely choose their leaders and have their votes counted.
