NOSCEF Urges Tinubu to Reverse Petrol Price Hike

The Northern States Christian Elders Forum (NOSCEF), led by Chairman Elder Sunday Oibe, has called on President Bola Tinubu to reverse the recent increase in petrol prices, stating that Nigerians are already suffering from hunger, insecurity, unemployment, and declining purchasing power. NOSCEF warned that further increases in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) would add to the financial strain on families.

They questioned how the government could continue to raise living costs while many citizens struggle to survive. The forum urged the President to explore alternative revenue-raising methods rather than imposing additional costs on citizens.

They emphasized the need for Tinubu to focus on restoring purchasing power, creating jobs, addressing insecurity, and rehabilitating infrastructure during his administration. While acknowledging some efforts made by the Tinubu administration, NOSCEF insisted that more action is needed to alleviate the ongoing economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
