NANS Urges Tinubu to Delay Action on Gbajabiamila

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has called on President Bola Tinubu to wait for a thorough investigation before acting against Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, who is implicated in a controversy involving Adeniyi Adeyemi. NANS insists that decisions of such magnitude should be based on established facts rather than unverified claims.

In a statement released on Friday and signed by NANS President Akintey Babatunde, the organization expressed full support for transparency and accountability in the fight against corruption, urging the President to allow appropriate authorities to complete their investigations. NANS argued that it is premature to demand Gbajabiamila's removal without judicial pronouncement on the matter.

The association also defended Gbajabiamila's record as a public servant and highlighted his contributions to resolving the prolonged ASUU strike in 2022. NANS cautioned against media trials and politically driven campaigns that could undermine due process and public institutions.
