Gbajabiamila Testifies Before ICPC in PFIPC Probe

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, appeared before the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) on July 20, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), which is alleged to be a fake agency. Gbajabiamila's counsel, Jiti Oguny, confirmed that he would fully cooperate with the ICPC's inquiries.

The investigation follows allegations against Adeniyi Adeyemi, the PFIPC's Director General, who is facing eight counts of criminal charges, including conspiracy and forgery. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Adeyemi's arrest due to his failure to appear for arraignment.

Additionally, Gbajabiamila has filed a defamation suit against Adeyemi, demanding N10 billion in general damages and N5 billion in aggravated damages, related to claims of a 48% kickback on a N27.3 billion grant. The court has adjourned Adeyemi's case until September 30, 2026.
