AGF Accuses Adeyemi of Intercepting Key PFIPC Letter

On Monday, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, the Accountant-General of the Federation, testified before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). He revealed that a letter from his office, which could have exposed allegedly forged documents used by the PFIPC, was intercepted by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the council's Director-General.

The AGF explained that the Office of the Accountant-General received a request in November 2024 from the State House for the creation of an administrative code for the PFIPC. The request appeared authentic, leading to the treasury processing it.

Ogunjimi stated that the response sent on November 29, 2024, never reached the State House due to Adeyemi's alleged interception. This delay hindered the discovery of forged documents submitted by the PFIPC, including a fake Act purportedly enacted by the National Assembly and a fake appointment letter.

Ogunjimi noted that treasury officials acted in good faith, believing the documents originated from the Presidency.
