Falana Critiques Police Handling of Adeyemi's Father's Case

Femi Falana, a senior advocate in Nigeria, criticized the Nigeria Police Force regarding the treatment of Adeniyi Adeyemi's father during an investigation. Falana stated that the arrest of the elderly man cannot be justified under the Constitution and the Criminal Justice Act.

He noted that the police had clarified that the elder was not actually arrested but was invited to assist with the investigation. Falana emphasized that the police should have obtained statements from Adeniyi Adeyemi's father at his home rather than taking him to the police station.

The incident involved police officers visiting the Adeyemi family residence, where they took the elder into custody for questioning about his son's whereabouts. He was released a few hours later.

Falana expressed concern over the police's approach, advocating for adherence to legal protocols in such situations.
