Gbajabiamila Invited for Questioning in PFIPC Scandal

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, was invited to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) headquarters in Abuja on July 20, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation into the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) scandal. The ICPC clarified that Gbajabiamila voluntarily appeared for questioning and was not arrested, countering earlier reports suggesting otherwise.

The investigation is focused on allegations surrounding the PFIPC, which has been linked to fraudulent activities. President Bola Tinubu had directed the ICPC to investigate the circumstances surrounding the PFIPC, which has reportedly operated from the Federal Secretariat in Abuja for two years.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the PFIPC's Director General, was also mentioned in connection with the investigation. The ICPC is working to gather relevant facts regarding the matter, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
