Leaders Divided on Gbajabiamila's Role in PFIPC Probe

The ongoing investigation into the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) has sparked differing opinions among political leaders and civil society regarding the role of Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu. While some stakeholders urge President Tinubu to direct Gbajabiamila to step aside during the investigation, others advocate for due process to be followed.

The House Ad Hoc Committee is probing the PFIPC's registration and budgetary allocation despite its alleged non-existence. Adeyemi Adeniyi, who claims to be the PFIPC's Director-General, alleged he paid N400 million to secure his position, a claim the Presidency has dismissed, labeling Adeniyi a fraudster.

Gbajabiamila has denied any wrongdoing, yet the Coalition of United Political Parties, led by Peter Ameh, insists he should temporarily vacate his office to ensure a fair investigation. The committee has heard testimonies from various officials regarding the agency's questionable bureaucratic processes.
