PFIPC Scandal: Adeniyi Denies Meeting Gbajabiamila

Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director General of the PFIPC, stated that he has never met Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, amidst a scandal involving the agency. In a conversation with activist Martin Vincent Ots, Adeyemi confirmed he had spoken to Gbajabiamila's chief of staff but denied any direct communication with Gbajabiamila.

This claim surfaced shortly after Gbajabiamila's lawyer, Kemi Pinheiro, threatened legal action against Adeyemi for his alleged links to the scandal. Adeyemi accused Gbajabiamila of demanding a 48 percent cut from a ₦27.4 billion grant, while also alleging that Gbajabiamila's chief of staff collected ₦400 million related to the agency's appointments.

Gbajabiamila has denied any involvement in the alleged fraud. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an investigation into the matter, which is set to be submitted within 30 days.

The case is adjourned until July 14, 2026.
