Thousands Attend Annual Ilorin Durbar Celebration

The annual Ilorin Durbar took place in 2026, led by Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu Gambari. This event, traditionally held during the Eid el-Kabir celebrations, featured a grand parade with hundreds of horse riders, traditional music, and cultural displays.

The Durbar attracted thousands of residents and dignitaries to the Kwara Baseball Park in Ilorin. Security measures were implemented, including the deployment of personnel from the Nigeria Police, Army, and Civil Defence Corps, along with the installation of CCTV cameras at strategic locations.

Alhaji Usman Atolagb described the Emir as a symbol of peace and coexistence among various ethnic groups, including Fulani, Yoruba, Nupe, Baruba, Hausa, Kanuri, and Gobirawa. The event was noted for promoting unity and economic activity across Kwara State.
