Political Leaders Condole El-Rufai Over Mother's Death

On Saturday, prominent political leaders, including former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, visited Mallam Nasir El-Rufai in Abuja to express their condolences after the death of his mother, Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, who passed away in Cairo, Egypt. The visit came shortly after El-Rufai's temporary release from custody, which was granted on compassionate grounds to allow him to attend his mother’s burial.

El-Rufai has been under scrutiny due to allegations of financial misconduct, with charges that many, including Amaechi, claim are politically motivated. The gathering of dignitaries, which also included former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal and former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, highlighted the significant political presence surrounding El-Rufai during this time of personal loss.
