Pioneer NIA DG Albert Korubo Horsfall Passes Away

Albert Korubo Horsfall, who served as the former Director-General of the State Security Service (DSS) and was the pioneer Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), has passed away. His son, Donald Horsfall, announced the news in a statement on Friday.

The family expressed their grief, referring to him as a “beloved patriarch” and emphasizing his decades of service to Nigeria, Rivers State, and the Niger Delta. They noted that Horsfall lived a fulfilled life dedicated to God, his family, and his community.

The family characterized him as an illustrious son of the Niger Delta and a distinguished public servant, highlighting his significant contributions to the development of Rivers State and Nigeria during his public service career. Horsfall is remembered as one of the most respected figures in the history of Rivers State and Nigeria at large, and as one of the founding fathers of Rivers State.
