Delta Police Set Up Security for 2026 UTME Exams

The Delta State Police Command has announced the activation of rapid response teams to secure the 10-day Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) taking place from April 16 to April 25, 2026. A comprehensive intelligence-led security framework has been established to oversee the examination process.

The police will deploy 31 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers across the state to ensure a hitch-free exercise. The statement, signed by Bright Edaf, the police public relations officer, noted that the state Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyeniyi, has directed area commands hosting CBT centers to assume full responsibility for their security.

The police emphasized strict supervision and visible presence at these centers, focusing on intelligence gathering to protect ICT infrastructure. They warned against examination malpractice and disorderly conduct, stating that offenders would be promptly arrested and prosecuted.

The Commissioner of Police urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the command control room.
