24 Suspects Arraigned for Lynching Woman in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Police Command has arraigned 24 suspects in connection with the murder of a woman accused of child theft, which took place on June 21. The suspects were charged with criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, mischief, destruction of public property, and culpable homicide.

The arraignment occurred at a magistrate court sitting at the Nigeria Defence Academy junction in Kaduna. Following a comprehensive investigation, the police have arrested these individuals and are pursuing an additional 100 suspects believed to have participated in the mob action.

The police condemned the mob justice and warned residents against taking the law into their own hands. The woman, who was allegedly lynched, had been in police custody prior to the incident.

The court has adjourned the matter until July 21, 2026, and the suspects have been remanded in custody pending the determination of the case.
