70-Year-Old Man Arrested for Defiling Minor in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command arrested 70-year-old Usman Abubakar for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl in the Tsakanin Bayara area of Bauchi metropolis. The incident was reported on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, by the girl's 48-year-old father, who claimed that on Sunday, August 24, 2026, at approximately 11 am, Abubakar lured his daughter to an uncompleted building where he allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.

Following the report, police operatives arrested Abubakar, who confessed to the crime during interrogation. The victim was taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination and treatment.

The Commissioner of Police in Bauchi, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, condemned the alleged offense and assured the public of a thorough investigation. He directed that Abubakar be charged to court in accordance with the law after the investigation is completed.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and prosecution.
