Police Arrest Eight Over Murder of Benue MACBAN Chairman

The Benue State Police Command has arrested an 80-year-old man, Sylvest Ajony, along with seven other suspects in connection with the murder of Yakubu Isa, the Chairman of the Benue chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN). The arrests occurred on July 1, following an earlier apprehension of ten suspects related to the case.

Police spokesperson DSP Udem Edet confirmed that the latest arrests were the result of sustained intelligence gathering and a meticulous investigation. The newly arrested individuals include Chief Morgan Ejaga (43), Chief Mose Anteyi (45), Chief John Ogli (58), Chief Yawuhu Adaji (49), Aba Alexand Uloko (59), and Fide Iduma (45).

The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Cletu Nwadiogbu, commended the investigative team for their professional efforts and assured residents that the investigation would continue, with a commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and maintaining peace in the state.
