Benue Government Condemns Murder of MACBAN Leader

The Benue State government, alongside nine local government chairmen, condemned the murder of Alhaji Ardo Risku Moham, the chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Benue State. This incident was described as a criminal act capable of disrupting the peace in the region.

During a press conference in Makurdi, Dr. Joseph Har, a special adviser on security and internal affairs, emphasized the need for community support in the investigation.

Marvin Ejeh, the deputy chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), extended condolences to the bereaved families and urged residents to assist security agencies. Governor Hyacinth Alia instructed security agencies to work tirelessly to identify, arrest, and prosecute those responsible for the crime.

Meanwhile, the Benue State Police Command announced the arrest of ten suspects during a coordinated intelligence-led operation in Otukpo on June 27, 2023, in connection with the murder. Police Commissioner Cletu C.

N. Nwadiogbu commended the tactical team's swift response and assured the public of ongoing efforts to apprehend all suspects involved.
