Police Arrest ASP and Two Men for Raping 13-Year-Old

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Aliyu Yaro, 49, along with Ibrahim Danjuma, 56, and Awwal Bala, 40, were arrested for allegedly engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl named Hasiya in Chanchaga, Minna, Niger State. The incidents reportedly occurred at different times, with the suspects initially approaching the victim under the pretense of purchasing fowl for N3,500.

Following a report from the victim's parents to the Ministry of Women Affairs, which was confirmed by Hajia Hadiza Kuta, the suspects were apprehended. The investigation revealed that the victim had been repeatedly raped by the suspects.

The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department on June 23, 2026, for further investigation. The police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects would face prosecution.

The victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination to verify the allegations.
