Five Arrested for Kidnapping School Children in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command arrested five men on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping of two school children, Jehu Yohana, aged 10, and Yohana Yohana, aged 5, on May 12, 2026, in the Jerri Sawmil area. The suspects, identified as Taofeek Lukman (23), Bless Saturday (27), Peter Mose (25), Sunday Isaac (23), and Sanusi Dan Asab (37), were apprehended by the Special Anti-Kidnap Squad after the children's father, Andrew Yohana, reported the incident at 9:00 AM.

The police initiated an immediate intelligence-driven investigation, which led to the arrest of Lukman and Saturday in the Alaba area. Further investigations revealed three additional suspects.

The police recovered N251,000, believed to be part of the ransom paid by the victims' family for their release. The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Felix Ohagwu, commended the operation's success and reaffirmed the command's commitment to combating kidnapping and violent crime in the state.
