Kwara Police Arrest Four Robbers, Recover Stolen Motorcycle

The Kwara State Police Command confirmed the arrest of four robbery suspects identified as Umaru Haruna, Habibu Kale, Kire Yelwa, and Iliyas Gambo, following a violent attack on two commuters on Thursday, June 4, 2026, around 8 PM in Ifelodun Local Government Area. The assailants, armed with sticks and cutlasses, inflicted injuries on the victims and forcibly took their motorcycle before fleeing the scene.

Upon receiving the report, the police launched a coordinated operation in collaboration with the National Forest Security Service, leading to the recovery of the stolen motorcycle and the arrest of the suspects. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects acted together during the robbery.

The police spokesperson, Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the gang leader, Simpli Sumo, who is believed to be armed and still at large. Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu commended the swift response of the police and the National Forest Security Service in combating crime in the area.
