Police Arrest Six for Harassing Motorists in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command arrested six suspects after a video circulated on social media, depicting youths harassing motorists in Lagos. The footage, shared by user @MrMekzy, showed young men surrounding a private vehicle, gesturing aggressively and nearly damaging the side mirror.

The police acknowledged the trending video and stated they were already monitoring such activities prior to its release. Following the incident, the police confirmed that six suspects were apprehended on the same road, and investigations are ongoing.

They also announced that officers have been strategically deployed to enhance surveillance and prevent future occurrences. The police thanked the public for their vigilance and encouraged residents to continue providing credible information to ensure safety in Lagos.

This incident comes amid rising complaints about the activities of street touts, known as agberos, with notable figures like actress Bimbo Ademoye, comedian Brain Jotter, and music video director TG Omori publicly condemning harassment and extortion targeting motorists and film crews.
