Ondo Police Arrest Four Officers Over Viral Video Incident

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four police officers involved in a viral social media video that depicted them making unprofessional and ethnically insensitive remarks during a stop-and-search operation along the Lagos–Benin Expressway. The officers arrested are AP/No. 207454 ASP Elomore Sodayo, AP/No. 332012 Inspector Adefila Adewale, AP/No. 332449 Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi, and AP/No. 332369 Inspector Odusola Peter.

Commissioner of Police Felix Ohagwu has directed a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances of the incident and the level of culpability of each officer. Police Public Relations Officer DSP Abayomi Jimoh emphasized that the Nigeria Police Force does not tolerate misconduct or actions that could undermine public trust or promote ethnic division.

The investigation will be conducted with fairness, transparency, and accountability, and any officer found culpable will face appropriate disciplinary measures in accordance with the law and established procedures.
