Police Arrest Armed Robber, Recover Firearms in Rivers

The Rivers State Police Command conducted a successful operation leading to the arrest of a suspected armed robber, Austin Emenik, popularly known as Oyibo, in Aluu, Ikwerr Local Government Area. The operation, which was based on credible intelligence, resulted in the recovery of several firearms, including a locally made pistol, four single-barrel guns, and five live cartridges.

The police described this arrest as a major success in their ongoing campaign against violent crime. Bless Agab, the public relations officer, disclosed that the operation was directed by Commissioner of Police Olugbenga Adepoju.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Emenik is linked to a wider criminal network, and the police are pursuing vital leads to identify and arrest other gang members. Adepoju reaffirmed the command's commitment to tackling violent crime and urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to improve security in the state.
