Police Arrest Suspected Kidnapper in Kwara State

Muhamodu Sanni was apprehended by the Kwara State Police Command while allegedly trying to withdraw ransom proceeds at a Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal. This arrest is connected to a kidnapping incident that occurred on July 28, 2026, when three individuals were abducted during an armed invasion of Obudu Village in Ilorin East Local Government Area.

The police, led by Public Relations Officer Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, stated that the arrest was the result of intelligence gathering and an expanded investigation into the financial and logistical operations of the kidnapping syndicate. During interrogation, Sanni disclosed information about his involvement in the ransom collection and named two other suspects, Aminu and Umar.

The Kwara State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ojo Adekimi and in line with the proactive strategy of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, aims to disrupt criminal networks and enhance public safety.
