Police Arrest Two Suspected Kidnappers in Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command arrested two suspected kidnappers, Usman Shaibu, 25, and Sanni Musa, 27, following the escape of their victim, 55-year-old Idowu Alade. Alade was abducted around 6:00 pm on August 21 at Aroge Camp, Idoani, after leaving his home to buy a network recharge card.

He escaped from the kidnappers' hideout at approximately 4:00 am on August 23 while the captors were asleep and later emerged through the Ifira area. The police, in collaboration with the Amotekun Corps, Ose Bravers Vigilante Group, and local hunters, launched a search operation the morning after Alade's escape.

Acting on credible intelligence, they located and rescued him, ensuring he received medical attention for injuries sustained during his ordeal. The victim identified Shaibu and Musa during a formal identification process, and his mobile phone was recovered from them.

The suspects confessed to their involvement and provided information on other members of their criminal network. The case has been transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Squad for further investigation.
