Suspected Kidnapper Arrested in Kwara While Withdrawing Ransom

The Kwara State Police Command arrested Muhamodu Sanni, who is linked to a suspected kidnapping syndicate in the Obudu/Woru axis of Ilorin East Local Government Area. The arrest occurred while Sanni was allegedly attempting to withdraw ransom proceeds from a recent abduction.

According to Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command’s Public Relations Officer, the operation was based on intelligence gathered after three individuals were abducted during an armed invasion of Obudu Village on July 28, 2026. The police expanded their investigation to include financial, logistics, and communications channels related to the abducted persons, leading to Sanni's apprehension.

This operation is part of the Kwara State Police Command's ongoing efforts against kidnapping, marking a significant breakthrough in dismantling the support structure of the syndicate operating in the area.
