Paris Police Arrest Three for Assaulting Schoolchildren

In Paris, three men have been arrested in connection with separate cases of alleged sexual assault involving 12 children across three schools. The incidents reportedly occurred in the 15th arrondissement, where nine children aged six to nine were allegedly assaulted.

Additionally, a husband of a teacher from a nursery school in the 20th arrondissement was arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting two children aged three and four. Another arrest was made at a school in the 10th arrondissement for the alleged sexual assault of a five-year-old girl.

The police have stated that six children aged three and four were also involved in these allegations. The arrests were made over the past two weeks following a month of public uproar regarding the allegations of severe sexual abuse by school monitors against kindergarten pupils.

Emmanuel Gregoir, the socialist candidate in the upcoming mayoral race, has pledged to overhaul the training of school monitors. Meanwhile, central-right politician Pierre-Yves Bournazel has agreed to merge lists with right-wing candidate Rachida Dati, urging a commitment to reform the recruitment of school monitors.
