Lagos Police Arrest Three Suspected Carjackers

The Lagos State Police Command arrested three suspected members of an armed robbery and carjacking syndicate in the Alakuko area. The suspects, identified as Faruk Rasheed (20), Olamilekan Ademola (28), and Abidemi Oluwawemo (21), were apprehended following credible intelligence.

They allegedly specialized in car snatching and robbing residents of their valuables. Police spokesperson SP Abimbola Adebesi stated that the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to combat armed robbery and carjacking in Lagos.

A search of the suspects led to the recovery of three locally made firearms, including two pistols loaded with five cartridges and a revolver pistol with three rounds of 9mm live ammunition. The suspects are currently in police custody, and efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
